Curcolionidae is the family of snout beetle. It has a long snout and antennas. The adult beetle ranges from 1 mm to 40 mm. This insect is often called boll weevil (kumbang yang bertelur di buah kapas) since it lays eggs and eats inside the boll of a cotton plant. Once it lives in the plant, it will destroy it. It is also the main enemy of Dendrobium orchid. Snout beetle has a complete four stage metamorphosis : egg, larvae, cocoon and adult beetle. Snout beetle can be found in all tropical forests.
